This geragure recipe easily finds way to the top of my favorite list. The geragure is made with seafood which is easily available at any grocery store. I prefer to make geragure as an appetizer for all my family get-togethers. How long will you deprive yourself of geragure. Go ahead and try it now.
Ingredients
1 medium sized onion, sliced
1/2 clove garlic, mashed or minced
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup water
1 can (1 lb. 4 oz.) solid pack tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cup crab meat, fresh or canned
1 1/2 pounds rockfish fillets
Directions
In a heavy kettle, saute onion and garlic in olive oil until golden brown, then add water, tomatoes, salt, and pepper, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Drop in crab meat and continue cooking for 10 minutes.
Cut fillets in thin strips, then drop into tomato mixture and simmer very slowly for 20 minutes.
To avoid breaking up fish, do not stir the mixture, but shake pan occasionally.
