 4 pounds lean beef, cut in 1 1/2-inch cubes
 Salt1 Tablespoon
 Black pepper1/2 Teaspoon
 Flour2 Tablespoon
 Oil1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), chopped
 Green pepper1 Cup (16 tbs), diced
 Celery2 Tablespoon, diced
 Scallions1/2 Cup (16 tbs), minced
 Carrot1/2 Cup (16 tbs), diced
 Apples2 , diced
 1 cup sljerry
 Red wine1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Onion1 Cup (16 tbs), diced
 2 quarts brown gravy
 Tomatoes1 pound, chopped
 Whole kernel corn1 Can (10oz)
 Water1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 2 potatoes, pared and quartered
 1 sweet potato, pared and quartered
 Turnips1 Cup (16 tbs), diced
 1/2 cup cooked, diced pumpkin
 Green beans1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Peas1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Peaches1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sliced
 1 grapefruit, sectioned
 2 oranges, sectioned
 Toasted slivered almonds1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Parsley1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped

Directions

Sprinkle meat with salt, pepper, and flour.
Brown in oil in deep kettle; add all remaining ingredients except the last five.
Simmer for 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Turn into deep serving dish, top with fruits; sprinkle with nuts and parsley
