Garlic Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter - 3 to 4 tablespoons | ||
| Italian Sausage - 1 pound, decased | ||
| Red Potatoes, medium - 8 nos, cooked | ||
| White Onions, medium - 3 nos, chopped | ||
| Garlic | 15 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| Garlic salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Oregano | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cumin | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Mozzarella cheese | 6 Ounce, sliced | |
| Salt | 1 To taste | |
| Paprika - to taste | ||
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Preheat oven to 450 degrees and grease a 11-inch pie pan.
2) Peel the potatoes and keep the skin aside. Slice the potatoes medium-thick.
3) Press the potato skins firmly onto the base of the pie pan to form a crust. Sprinkle the skin with garlic salt and lightly spread a little butter evenly.
MAKING
4) In a skillet placed over low heat, melt buter and saute garlic and onion for about 20 minutes.
5) Add in the sausage and stir around till brown on the outside. Next, add in oregano, cumin, salt and pepper. Mix well and pour the mixture into the pie pan.
6) In a bowl, whisk eggs and milk and pour evenly over the sausage mixture.
7) Sprinkle with cheese and arrange the potato slices on top.
8) Lightly butter the top, sprinkle paprika and bake for 30 minutes.
SERVING
9) Serve the Garlic Pie warm.
