Galecliff Crab Chowder Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1 onion, chopped 1 | ||
| All purpose flour | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Water | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 potatoes, peeled and diced 2 | ||
| Carrot | 1 , diced | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Savory | 1/2 Teaspoon, dried | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Pinch 2 cups pinch | ||
| Milk | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 lb cod fillets, cut in bite-size pieces 500 g | ||
| Snow crab | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
In large heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; cook onion until softened, about 3 minutes.
Stir in flour to coat onion; cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
Add water, potatoes, carrot, salt, savory, pepper and thyme; cover and bring to boil.
Reduce heat and simmer until vegetables are tender, about 15 minutes.
Pour in milk; return to simmer.
Add cod and return to boil.
Immediately remove from heat.
Add crab, breaking apart pieces; cover and let stand for 5 minutes.
Taste and adjust seasoning.
Stir in flour to coat onion; cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
Add water, potatoes, carrot, salt, savory, pepper and thyme; cover and bring to boil.
