Full O' Flavor Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| Pastry for 2 crust pie | ||
| Apples | 2 Can (10oz), sliced | |
| Lemon juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Firmly packed brown sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Flour | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Ground nutmeg | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Confectioner’s sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Light cream | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Vanilla extract | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Prepare a 9-inch pie shell; roll out remaining pastry for top crust.
Set aside.
Turn apples into a large bowl; lightly mix in the lemon juice.
Add a mixture of brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; toss lightly.3.
Spoon the apple mixture into unbaked pie shell, heaping slightly at the center.
Dot with butter.
Complete as directed for 2-crust pie.
Bake at 450°F 10 minutes; reduce oven temperature to 350°F and bake 30 to 40 minutes, or until crust is lightly browned.
While pie is baking, prepare glaze by thoroughly mixing the remaining ingredients.
When pie is baked, remove from oven and set on wire rack.
Using a pastry brush, evenly brush the glaze over top of pie.
