 Unsweetened chocolate square2
 Shortening1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Granulated Sugar1 Cup (16 tbs)
 2 eggs, well-beaten
 All purpose flour1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Salt1/4 Teaspoon
 Vanilla extract1 Teaspoon
 Walnuts1/2 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped

Directions

Melt chocolate and shortening in double boiler.
Remove top part from hot water, and blend in sugar, then eggs.
Add flour and salt.
Stir well with a spoon.
Add vanilla.
Pour into 2 greased or oiled 8" x 8" x 2" baking pans; spread smooth, and sprinkle with nuts.
Bake in moderately hot oven of 400ºF for 12 min.
Cool.
Cut into 2" squares.
