Fruity Pizza Recipe
Ingredients
Dough
1/4 cup (60 ml) margarine
1/4 cup (60 ml) sugar
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 cup (250 ml) flour
2 tsp (10 ml) baking powder
2 tsp (10 ml) almond extract
Garnish
12 oz (341 ml) pineapple
12 oz (341 ml) sliced peaches
12 oz (341 ml) sliced pears
Maraschino cherries
Icing
1 cup (250 ml) orange juice
1 cup (250 ml) sugar
3 tbsp (45 ml) cornstarch
Directions
– Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
– Butter a 13-inch (34-cm) pizza pan.
– In a bowl, using a fork, blend all dough ingredients.
– Spread dough evenly by hand in pizza pan.
– Bake 15 to 20 minutes, remove from oven, and let stand to cool.
Garnish
– Place fruit on cooked pizza dough, beginning in the middle with pineapple, followed by peach slices, then pear slices. Top with cherries and set aside.
Icing
– In a saucepan, heat orange juice and sugar.
– In a bowl, dissolve cornstarch in 1 tbsp (15 ml) orange juice.
– Add dissolved cornstarch and simmer a few minutes. Pour hot liquid over fruit.
– Refrigerate a few hours before serving
