Fruited Trifle Recipe
Ingredients
| Cake package | 1 , frozen | |
| Strawberry jelly | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/3 cup cream sherry | ||
| Strawberries | 1 Pint | |
| Sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 package peach-flavor soft dessert mix | ||
| 1 1/2 cups very cold milk | ||
| Whipped cream | ||
Directions
1. Cut the cake into 1/2 -inch-thick slices. Spread half the slices with strawberry jelly; top with remaining slices. Cut each sandwich in half, crosswise.
2. Arrange the cake sandwiches around sides and bottom of a 10-cup, shallow, glass, serving dish. Drizzle sherry over.
3. Wash, hull and halve strawberries; toss with sugar in a medium-size bowl. Spoon berries into the cake-lined serving dish, reserving a few for garnish.
4. Prepare dessert mix, but using 1 1/2 cups milk. Pour over strawberries. Chill at least 1 hour.
