Fruited Salad Recipe
Ingredients
| Long grain rice package | 1 | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Oranges | 2 Medium | |
| 1 cup mayonnaise or mayonnaise-style salad dressing | ||
| Celery | 1 Cup (16 tbs), sliced | |
| Pecans | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Orange juice | 1 /3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Seedless green grapes | 1/2 Pound, halved | |
| 6 cantaloupe or honeydew melon rings | ||
| Crisp salad greens | ||
Directions
Cook contents of rice and seasoning packets with water and butter or margarine according to package directions.
Chill.
Wash oranges and grate 2 teaspoons of the orange peel; reserve.
Peel oranges and remove white membrane.
Dice oranges and set aside.
Mix together rice, mayonnaise or salad dressing, celery, pecans, orange juice, orange peel and sugar.
Chill well.
Just before serving, add diced oranges and grapes.
Mix well.
Chill.
