Ingredients

 Candied citron1 Pound
 Raisins8 Ounce
 Candied cherries12 Ounce, cut up (Green And Red)
 Pecans1 Pound, chopped
 Dates1 Pound, chopped
 Almonds4 Ounce
 Shortening1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
 Brown sugar1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
 Honey/Syrup1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
 Eggs5 Small, beaten
 Flour1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
 Salt1 Tablespoon
 Baking powder3 Tablespoon
 Cinnamon1 Tablespoon
 Allspice1⁄2 Tablespoon
 Cloves1⁄2 Tablespoon
 Nutmeg1⁄2 Tablespoon

Directions

Toss above ingredients together with 4 tablespoons flour until well coated.
Set aside and mix batter.
Cream shortening and sugars well.
Add honey, then eggs and mix well.
Sift and measure flour and other dry ingredients together.
Add dry ingredients to cream mixture.
Pour batter over fruit mixture and mix thoroughly.
Line greased tube pan with brown paper and grease again.
Bake in 250° oven over a pan of water for 4 hours.
Cool in pan, then remove.
Pour about 1 cup of fruit juice or brandy over top as desired.
Wrap in foil and store in the refrigerator.
If desired, decorate with cherries and almonds, using almonds for flower petals and cherries for centers.
