Fruit-Filled Crumb Bars Recipe
It is hard to stop drooling at the very mention of Fruit-Filled Crumb Bars!! Here's my Mama's recipe for this delicious snack. Not complicated to make, this is a good option to try out.
Ingredients
Corn flakes - 6 cups or Packaged corn flake crumbs (1 1/2 cups)
Sifted flour - 2 cups
Brown sugar - 1 cup, firmly packed
Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Soft butter or margarine - 1 cup
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Grease a 13x9-inch -square pan.
MAKING
2) If using corn flakes, crush into fine crumbs.
3) Combine and sift the flour, soda, and salt.
4) Blend in the butter and sugar.
5) Add in the sifted dry ingredients together with the corn flake crumbs and mix well.
6) Take half the mix and add it into the baking pan.
7) Spread evenly with the desired filling.
8) Add the remaining crumb mix over and pat down lightly.
9) Place in the oven at 350° F and bake for about 35 minutes, or till lightly browned.
10) Cool.
11) Cut into 2 x 21/2-inch bars.

12) Top with ice cream and serve.
