Fruit Poached In Wine Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 cups red or white wine | ||
| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sliced peel of 1/2 fresh lemon | ||
| Lemon juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Cinnamon stick | 1 | |
| Peaches pieces | 4 , peeled | |
Directions
1. Place wine, sugar, lemon peel, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
2. Add fruit and simmer until tender, basting occasionally with juice. Do not allow liquid to boil.
3. Let stand in juice about 20 minutes before serving.
