Fruit Nut Caramels Recipe
Ingredients
| Brown sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs), firmly packed | |
| 1 cup white corn syrup | ||
| Evaporated milk | 1 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Seedless raisins | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Nuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Vanilla | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Combine sugar and corn syrup and boil 5 minutes without stirring.
Add milk gradually so as not to stop boiling at any time.
Then add butter.
Boil to medium ball stage (240° F.) stirring constantly.
Remove from fire.
Add washed, drained raisins, salt, nuts, and vanilla.
Stir just enough to blend and turn into buttered pan.
Cool.
Makes2 1/2 lbs.
