 Pears6 Medium
 Fruit cocktail1 8 3/4 Ounce
 Orange juice1/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Chopped ginger2 Teaspoon, candied
 Cornstarch1 Tablespoon
 Water1 Tablespoon
 Dry sherry3 Tablespoon

Directions

Core pears; peel, if desired.
Drain fruit cocktail, reserving syrup.
Add water to make 2/3 cup liquid.
In medium skillet combine reserved syrup, orange juice, and candied ginger.
Place whole pears in liquid and bring to boiling.
Reduce heat; cover and set aside, Combine cornstarch and water; stir into hot liquid in skillet.
Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly
Remove from heat; stir in sherry and fruit cocktail.
Place pears in 6 large wineglasses or sherbets.
Spoon fruit cocktail sauce into core cavity and over pears, crowning with cherry half.
