Ingredients

 1/2 cup each of pitted dates, dried apricots, and shredded coconut
 1/4 cup each of glazed cherries and nuts
 Rind of 1/2 orange
 Salt1 Pinch
 Vanilla extract1/2 Teaspoon
 Egg whites2
 Confectioner’s sugar2/3 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

Put fruits, nuts, coconut, and orange rind through food chopper, using coarse blade.
Mix well and form into 1-inch balls.
Add salt and vanilla to egg whites; beat until stiff.
Add sugar gradually, beating well after each addition.
Dip fruit balls into meringue and place on greased cookie sheets.
Bake in preheated slow oven (300° F.) for about 35 minutes.
Cool.
