Fruit Custard Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| Flour | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) (For pastry) | |
| 1/4 cup vanilla custar powder | ||
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon (For pastry) | |
| Salt | 1 Pinch (For pastry) | |
| Pinch of soda bicarb | ||
| Milk | 3 Tablespoon (For pastry) | |
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Filling) | |
| Custard powder | 2 Tablespoon (Filling) | |
| Sugar | 2 Tablespoon (Filling) | |
| Chopped | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), mixed (Filling) | |
| Strawberries | 6 (Filling) | |
Directions
Sieve flour, custard powder, salt and soda bicarb together in a large mixing bowl.
Put butter into flour and mix with fingers till it resembles bread crumbs.
Knead to a stiff dough with milk.
Roll out the dough into 1/2 cm thick pastry slightly bigger than the pie dish.
Put the pasty in the dish (hovering the sides also.
Heat milk.
Make paste of custard powder with little cold milk and put in the hot milk.
Cook till thick.
Add sugar and cool.
Put the fruits in the custard and pour in the pastry.
Bake in the oven at 220°C for 20 minutes.
Reduce the heat to 180°C and bake for another 15 minutes.
Cool for 2-3 minutes and remove from the dish.
Cool completely.
Decorate with strawberries and serve.
