Directions

GETTING READY:
1)In a bowl sift together flour, salt, cloves, and cinnamon.
2)In another large bowl add cream shortening and sugar, egg and molasses.
3)Fold in raisins, fruit cocktail, nuts, and vanilla in the large bowl.
4)In another bowl dissolve soda in water and add to mixture along with the sifted ingredients and stir together.
5)Place parchment paper on a baking tray and drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.

MAKING:
6)Bake at 370 degrees until lightly browned.

SERVING:
7)Serve after cooling down with your favorite beverage.

NOTE:
This mixture makes about 5 dozen cookies.
