 Strawberries - 1 pint , cut into 3/4 -inch dice
 Ripe peaches - 2, pitted and cut into 3/4 -inch dice
 Sugar1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Lemon juice2 Tablespoon
 Brandy1 Cup (16 tbs)
 750-ml bottles of semidry white wine such as Riesling - 2, chilled

Directions

MAKING
1 In a medium size bowl, mix the strawberries, peaches, sugar, and lemon juice;stir in the brandy.
2 Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least for 4 hours or overnight.
3 In a punch bowl, combine the fruit and its liquid with the wine .

SERVING
4 Serve chilled, spooning some of the fruit into each serving with the optional mint sprigs.
