Frosted Molasses Cream Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar 1 well beaten egg
1/2 cup light molasses
1/2 cup strong, hot coffee infusion
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
Directions
Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar; add egg and molasses and mix well.
Add coffee and sifted dry ingredients.
Beat until smooth.
Pour into a well greased pan 9"x13".
Bake at 350° F. for 25 minutes.
While warm, frost with confectioners' frosting.
Cool.
Cut in squares.
Makes 1 1/2 dozen.
