Frosted Coffee Bars Recipe

Ingredients
| Shortening | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Brown sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs), firmly packed | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| 1/2 cup strong hot coffee | ||
| All purpose flour | 1 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 teaspoon each baking powder,soda, cinnamon, and salt | ||
| Seedless raisins | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Walnuts | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Powdered sugar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| 1 tablespoon soft butter or margarine | ||
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| About 3 tablespoons strong hot coffee | ||
Directions
Cream shortening with sugar; blend in egg, then the 1/2 cup coffee.
Sift flour, measure, and sift again with the baking powder, soda, cinnamon, and salt; mix well with first mixture.
Stir in the raisins and walnuts.
Spread batter in a greased cooky pan (11 by 16 inches) and bake in a 375° oven for about 15 minutes.
Cool in pan.
Spread with thin icing made by blending the powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, and 3 tablespoons coffee (add more coffee if needed).
When icing is set, cut into squares.
