Frosted Butterscotch Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Baking powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Packed brown sugar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Shortening | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 slightly beaten eggs | ||
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1 8-oz. carton dairy sour cream | ||
| Walnuts | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Butter | 1 , browned | |
Directions
1. In a bowl combine flour, soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside. In a mixing bowl beat brown sugar and shortening with an electric mixer on medium to high speed till combined. Add eggs and vanilla; beat till combined. Alternately add flour mixture and sour cream, beating after each addition. Stir in walnuts.
2. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375° oven for 10 to 12 minutes or till edges are lightly browned. Cool cookies on a wire rack. Spread cooled cookies with Browned Butter Frosting. If desired, top each cookie with a walnut half.
