Fried Urad Dal Recipe
Ingredients
| Urad dal | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Turmeric | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Black cuminseeds - 1 tsp | ||
| Ginger | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Big onion - 1 | ||
| Green chillies | 2 | |
| Salt | 1 To taste | |
| Water | 5 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Black pepper | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Medium tomatoes - 2 | ||
| Butter or ghee - 1/2 to 3/4 cup | ||
| Coriander leaves | 2 Teaspoon, chopped | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1 Wash the dal well.
2 In a bowl, soak the washed dal for 15 minutes.
MAKING
3 In a pan, heat the ghee.
4 Fry chopped onion and ginger until light brown,.
5 Add in cumin seeds and fry for 1 minute.
6 Add in chopped tomatoes and stir for a while and keep aside.
7 In another pan, boil water.
8 Add in dal, turmeric and salt and cook on a low fire.
9 When the dal is almost cooked, add in the prepared onion mixture.
10 Add in the coriander, green chillies and black pepper and cook for about 5 minutes.
SERVING
11 Serve hot with rice or chapatis
