Ingredients

 
1 lb sweet potatoes
 
Oil for frying
 
1/2 cup syrup

Directions

Thickly peel the potato and cut into sticks about 1/2 inch wide and 2-3 inches long - similar to chips.
Dry the sticks on a clean towel and fry them in the oil for about 4 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
Drain and pile on a large dish.
Heat the syrup and pour over the chips: serve.
NOTE: If obtainable, use the small sweet potatoes as they are easier to handle.
