Ingredients
1 pound filet steak
Marinade:
1 tablespoon soy sauce mixed with
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons sherry
4 tablespoons oil
2 onions
1 green pepper, shredded
4 cups cold, cooked rice
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
Directions
Cut the meat against the grain into shreds 11/2x1/4 inch.
Mix with the marinating mixture and let it stand for 10 minutes.
Heat a pan with 2 tablespoons oil and when it is very hot add the meat and saute for 2 minutes.
Remove and set it aside.
Saute the onions till they become brown, add the green pepper and stir 1 minute or till it turns bright green.
Remove the vegetables and set them aside.
To the same pan add the remaining oil and when it is hot add the rice and saute for 2 minutes, making sure that the grains are well separated.
Add the onions, green pepper and beef, and mix well together.
Sprinkle with soy sauce and white pepper.
Turn off the heat, stir again once or twice and then serve in a shallow bowl immediately.
