Fried Prawn Balls Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/2 kg. prawns, shelled, de-veined and chopped | ||
| Onions spring | 3 | |
| Water chestnuts | 8 , peeled, finely chopped | |
| Salt | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Dry sherry | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Ginger | 1 Teaspoon, finely grated | |
| 1 egg white, beaten until stiff | ||
| 2 tsps. cornflour oil for frying | ||
| 1 cup Chinese red sauce | ||
Directions
Chop spring onions very finely.
Mix prawns, water chestnuts, spring onions, salt, sherry and ginger in a bowl.
Add egg white to the mixture with cornflour.
Make walnut size balls.
Heat oil and fry a few balls at a time until golden brown.
Drain on kitchen paper and serve hot with sauce.
VEGETARIAN VERSION:
Use 100 gms.soya granules (soaked and ground) instead of prawns and follow the recipe as above and serve with sauce.
