Ingredients
7 lb hun t'un paste
1 lb streaky pork
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 lb frozen leaf spinach
Deep fat for frying
Directions
Cut out 2 inch rounds from the paste.
Mince (grind) the pork, add soy sauce, sugar and salt, mix well and leave for 10 minutes.
Defrost the spinach and squeeze in a clean, dry cloth to get rid of excess moisture.
Add the pork and mix well.
Place a little of the mixture in the centre of each round, dampen the edges and press together to seal.
Drop the hun t'un into deep fat and fry for about 5 minutes, turning during cooking to brown evenly.
Drain and serve hot.
NOTE: Hun t'un paste, or skin as it is sometimes called, is usually available from most Chinese stores.
The correct pronunciation is 'one ton'.
