Fried Corn Meal Mush Recipe
Ingredients
2 3/4 cups water
1 cup corn meal
1 cup cold water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
Directions
In saucepan, heat 2 3/4 cups water to boiling.
Combine remaining ingredients; gradually add to boiling water, stirring constantly.
Cook till mixture thickens, stirring frequently.
Cover, continue cooking over low heat 10 to 15 minutes.
Pour into a 7 1/2x3 1/2x2 1/4 inch loaf pan.
Cool.
Chill overnight.
Slice 1/2 inch thick.
Fry in small amount hot fat till brown, turning once.
