Fried Stuffed Pastries Recipe
All I can say about this Fried Stuffed Pastries is YUM! I am sure this super delicious Asian dish is gonna bowl you over with its addictive flavor! No other ingredient will make dish taste so yummy than pork. You have to devote only 50 minutes to make this tasty dish. Ingredients
Flour - 2 cups
Salt - 2 teaspoons
Shortening - 1/2 cup
Egg yolk - 1
Water - 1/4 cup
Pork - 1/2 cup, cooked and diced (or use Chicken or Beef)
Mushrooms - 1/2 cup, sliced
Crab meat - 1/4 pound
Vermicelli - 1/2 cup, cooked (or use fine noodles)
Egg - 1, hard-cooked
Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon, freshly ground
Fat - As desired, for deep frying
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Into a bowl, sift together the flour and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
2) To this, with a pastry blender, cut in the shortening.
3) In a small bowl, beat together the egg yolk and water.
4) To the flour mixture, add this and toss gently until the mix becomes a ball of dough.
5) Chill the mixture 1 hour.
MAKING
6) To prepare the filling, with a sharp knife, chop together the meat, mushrooms, crab meat, vermicelli, egg, remaining salt, and pepper, till really fine.
7) On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Then, cut into 6-inch circles.
8) On the end of each circle, place the filling evenly.
9) Now, turn the ends in and roll up the dough like a jelly roll. You can use egg white or water to moisten and seal the edges.
10) In a heavy skillet, heat the fat to 365 degrees.
11) In the hot fat, fry the rolls for 10 minutes, or until they turn brown. You can fry 2 or 3 rolls at a time, depending on the size of the skillet.
12) Drain the fried rolls and continue frying the rest.
SERVING
13) Serve hot with a sauce on the side.
