Fried Potato And Apple Cake Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 pound potatoes, cut in chunks and boiled 10 minutes | ||
| 1 apple cored and cut in chunks | ||
| Freshly grated nutmeg to taste | ||
| Butter | 6 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Roughly grate the potatoes in food processor or by hand.
Put into a bowl.
Grate the apple and combine.
Season with nutmeg.
Melt 4 tablespoons butter in non stick 8-inch fry pan.
Add apple-potato mixture and press down into a cake.
Put on a lid.
Cook on medium heat until bottom is brown, about 20 minutes.
Keep the cake loose by sliding a spatula underneath.
Remove lid and add butter to pan, putting pieces around the edge of the cake to keep it from sticking too much.
Continue cooking slowly a few minutes more until brown and crispy on the bottom.
To serve, carefully invert potato cake onto a round platter.
Cut into pie-shaped wedges to serve.
