Ingredients

 
8 oz (250 g) small egg noodles
 
6 cups (1.5 L) water
 
3 tbsp (50 mL) vegetable oil
 
Salt and pepper to taste
 
3 cups (750 mL) cabbage, finely shredded
 
2 thin slices of cooked ham
 
1 medium-sized onion, thinly sliced
 
1 small green pepper, cut into small strips
 
Sauce:
 
1/4 cup (60 mL) ketchup or chili sauce
 
2 tbsp (30 mL) HP Sauce

Directions

€¢ Bring the water to boil, about 10 minutes at HIGH. Place the noodles gently into the water. Microwave 3 minutes at HIGH. Pour into a large sieve, drain thoroughly.
€¢ Pour the oil into a microwave-safe bowl, microwave 1 minute at HIGH.
€¢ Add the well-drained noodles and stir until they are well coated with the oil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Pour into a dish, cover to keep warm.
€¢ Slice into thin shreds the cabbage, ham, onion and green pepper. Mix together in a bowl.
€¢ Place 1 tablespoon (15 mL) of oil in another microwave-safe bowl and microwave 1 minute at MEDIUM-HIGH.
€¢ Stir in the vegetable and ham mixture. Microwave 2 minutes at MEDIUM-HIGH. Add to the hot noodles.
€¢ Mix together the sauce ingredients. Pour over the noodles, stir. Microwave 1 minute at HIGH.
