Fried Green Pepper Strips Recipe

Ingredients
2 large green peppers
1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 egg, fork beaten
2 tablespoons water
Fat for frying
Directions
1. Clean green peppers and cut into 1/8 inch rings. Cut each ring into halves or thirds.
2. Coat with a mixture of bread crumbs, cheese, salt, and pepper. Dip into a mixture of egg and water. Coat again with crumb mixture. Chill 1 hour.
3. Heat a 1/2 inch layer of fat to 375°F in a skillet. Cover surface with chilled green pepper strips. Fry about 30 seconds, or until golden brown. Remove strips with fork or slotted spoon. Drain on absorbent paper.
