Fried Duck Recipe
I found out a great way to use poultry by making some delicious fried duck. The goodness of poultry makes fried duck a great treat. I prefer to make fried duck as a main dish for all my family get-togethers. There is no bigger sin than reading this recipe of fried duck and not trying it out.
Ingredients
Oil or shortening
1 cup flour
Salt and fresh pepper to taste
2 ducks (3 1/2 -4 pounds), cut into pieces
Watercress
Directions
Place oil or shortening in heavy skillet to depth of 1/4 inch.
Put the flour, salt, and pepper in a brown paper bag.
Shake the pieces of duck, a few at a time, in the flour.
When fat in pan is very hot, carefully add the duck.
Brown on one side for 15 minutes.
Turn over and brown other side 15 minutes.
Pour off half the fat from skillet.
Add 1/4 cup water to skillet.
Cover, reduce heat, and cook until duck is tender, about 20 minutes, turning twice.
Uncover duck last 5-10 minutes to crisp it.
