Fried Biscuit Puffs Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Shortening | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Lukewarm water | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Fat for frying | ||
| Honey or sugar and cinnamon | ||
Directions
Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in the shortening till mixture resembles cornmeal.
Gradually add the water, stirring with a fork (dough will be crumbly).
Turn onto floured surface; knead into a smooth ball.
Divide dough in half; let stand 10 minutes.
Roll each half into a 12 1/2 X 10-inch rectangle.
Cut into 2 1/2-inch squares (do not reroll or patch dough).
Fry a few at a time in deep hot fat (400°) till golden.
Drain on paper toweling.
