Fresh Mushroom Sauce Recipe
No one can eat just one is my claim for this recipe of Fresh Mushroom Sauce. This Fresh Mushroom Sauce, when served as a Side Dish will always bring cheer to your table. Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 pound mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
1 chicken bouillon cube dissolved in 3/4 cup hot water
1 tablespoon dry sherry
White pepper and ground nutmeg
Directions
Place butter in a 1 quart casserole.
Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH (100%) for 30 seconds or until melted.
Stir in mushrooms and onion.
Microwave, covered with wax paper, on HIGH (100%) for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes.
Stir in flour and microwave, uncovered, on HIGH (100%) for 30 seconds.
Gradually stir bouillon into mushroom mixture.
Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH (100%) for 3 1/2 to 4 minutes (stirring every minute) or until sauce boils and thickens.
Stir in sherry and sprinkle with pepper and nutmeg to taste.
Let stand, covered with wax paper, for 3 minutes to blend flavors.
