Fresh Basil Tomato Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| Olive oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Onion | 1 Large, chopped | |
| 1 carrot, pared and diced | ||
| Stalk celery | 1 , diced | |
| Garlic | 3 Clove (5gm), smashed | |
| Ripe tomatoes | 12 Large, chopped | |
| Tomato Paste | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Basil | 1 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Thyme | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Parsley | 1 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Oregano | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Heat oil in saute pan over medium heat. Add onion, carrot and celery. Cook 8 minutes over low heat.
Mix in garlic and continue cooking 3 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients and bring to boil. Cook 70 minutes, partly covered, over low heat. Stir 3 to 4 times during cooking.
Serve over hot pasta.
