Fresh Tomato And Basil Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| Olive oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Onion | 1 Large, sliced | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Tomatoes | 6 Large, peeled | |
| Tomato juice | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Basil | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| black pepper | 1 |
Directions
1.Heat oil in a saucepan.
Cook onion and garlic for 4-5 minutes or until onion softens.
Stir in tomatoes and tomato juice and simmer for 5 minutes.
2.Add 1 tablespoon basil and simmer for a further 1 hour or until sauce thickens and reduces.
Just before serving, stir in remaining basil and season with pepper.
