Ingredients
| 2 pounds peas in the pod | ||
| 8 small whole white onions, peeled, with a cross cut in the root end | ||
| 6 Boston lettuce leaves or 1 Bibb lettuce, shredded | ||
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Water | 3 Tablespoon | |
| 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon cold water | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Shell the peas.
MAKING
2) In a casserole, place the peas along with the other ingredients except cornflour.
3) Cover and cook on highest setting for 8 minutes.
4) Dissolve cornstarch in cold water and stir in gently in the pea mixture ensuring the peas don't break.
5) Cook for a minute.
SERVING
6) Serve hot.
