Fresh Pear Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| Pears | 6 | |
| 1/3 cup mild honey | ||
| Lemon juice | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Quick-cooking tapioca | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Ground ginger | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 double pie crust for a 9-inch pie tin | ||
Directions
Peel, core, and slice pears.
Combine honey and lemon juice.
Pour over pears quickly so pears will not discolor.
Combine tapioca, salt, and spices.
Combine with pears.
Let stand 15 minutes.
Fill unbaked pie shell with the pear mixture.
Cover with top crust.
Seal edges and make vents.
Bake at 400° 10 minutes, then at 375° for an additional 30-40 minutes, or until tender.
