Fresh Pear Dumplings Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 2/3 cup shortening or lard | ||
| Cold water | 7 Tablespoon | |
| Pears | 6 Small, peeled | |
| Package cream cheese | 1 3 Ounce, softened | |
| Walnuts | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Sugar | 6 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 cup red cinnamon candies | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Stir together flour and salt.
Cut in shortening till pieces are size of small peas.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon water over part of mixture; gently toss.
Push to side of bowl.
Repeat till all is moistened.
Form dough into ball.
On lightly floured surface roll out into a 21x14-inch rectangle; cut into six 7-inch squares.
Place one pear upright on center of each square.
Blend cream cheese and nuts.
Fill center of each pear with 1 tablespoon cheese mixture; sprinkle with 1 teaspoon sugar.
Moisten edges of each pastry square.
Fold corners of each square to center over pear; seal edges by pinching together.
Place in 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
Combine 1 1/4 cups sugar, candies, and 1 1/2 cups water.
Cook and stir till dissolved.
Bring to boiling; add butter.

Bake in 400° oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
