Fresh Mushrooms With Cheese Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced lengthwise
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (about 1/4 lb.)
1 can (about 8 oz.) pitted black olives, drained and sliced or chopped
1 1/2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/3 cup half-and-half (light cream)
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
Directions
In a greased 2-quart casserole, arrange the mushrooms, cheese, and olives in alternate layers.
Blend together flour, salt, pepper, and half-and-half; pour over the mushrooms.
In a small pan, melt the butter; add the bread crumbs and mix with a fork.
Sprinkle the crumbs over casserole.
Bake uncovered in a 350° oven until bubbly and golden brown, about 30 minutes.
