Fresh Corn Au Gratin Recipe

Ingredients
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded pasteurized process American cheese
3 cups fresh corn, cut from cob
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
Dash freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
Directions
Blend 1 tablespoon butter or margarine with flour; stir over medium heat until frothy.
Stir in milk.
Cook mixture to medium thickness, stirring constantly.
Add cheese, corn, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
Mix well.
Spoon into a buttered 1 quart casserole.
Melt remaining butter or margarine and mix with bread crumbs.
Sprinkle over casserole.
Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes, or until crumbs are brown.
