Fresh Cauliflower Au Gratin Recipe
Ingredients
1 medium head cauliflower
2 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Paprika
Directions
Wash cauliflower and separate into flowerets.
Place flowerets and water in a deep, 1 1/2 quart, heat-resistant, non-metallic casserole.
Heat, covered, on full power 9 to 10 minutes.
Set aside.
In a medium-sized, heat-resistant, non-metallic bowl melt butter, uncovered, on full power 30 seconds.
Blend in flour and salt.
Stir until smooth.
Gradually add milk.
Heat, uncovered, on roast for 2 to 3 minutes or until sauce is thickened and smooth.
Stir once.
Stir cheese into sauce.
Pour sauce over cauliflower and heat, uncovered, on roast 2 to 3 minutes or until cauliflower is heated through.
Sprinkle paprika over sauce
