Directions

Cut the bread slices diagonally so that a single slice will give u two triangles.

Crack the eggs into a bowl. Add milk & sugar. You may also add nutmeg powder, vanilla essence and cinnamon powder. Beat all ingredients well until the mixture turns completely yellow.

Take a slice and dip it in the mixture, remove and dip the other side also in the mixture. Remove quickly otherwise the slice may absorb too much of the mixture and the bread may fall apart.

Heat a pan, spray some non-stick cooking spray/ use a table spoon of olive oil/ a dash of butter for more taste.

Fry the bread slice on the pan until the side turns brownish, over turn and fry the other side too (until the sides have browned and the egg has cooked through).

Continue procedure with other slices too.

Variation: For those who do not prefer their french toast to be sweet can substitute sugar with salt and pepper.

I usually just use stale bread for French Toast and that is often why I make it. For a real adult treat add some Grand Marnier and make Brioche French Toast. When I do that I just dust with powdered sugar through a sieve or make a shape like a heart-great with champagne.

My kids always love French Toast and so does Stve. My grandmother taught me to use vanilla, nutmeg and innamon makes a huge difference. I haven't seen anyone else make it this way. Never used sugar but syrup makes it sweet. I use evaporated milk for extra rich taste. English Muffin sliced bread is great for French Toast.
