French Peas Recipe
This French Peas recipe is going to be bigger hit than Avatar movie. Vegetable is one of the few ingredients I like to include in my daily cooking and this is my comfort recipe that I usually prepare using it. This Canadian French Peas is a delectable Side Dish. Add this French Peas to your list of choicest foods and make it whenever you want to.
Ingredients
3 lbs. fresh green peas
1 small head lettuce
4 scallions or green onions
3 tablespoons butter cut in pieces
2 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon mono-sodium glutamate
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
2 tablespoons chopped chives
Directions
Shell peas, reserving one third of tenderest pods.
Put reserved pods on a square of cheesecloth and tie corners securely together, forming a bag.
Cut out core of head lettuce.
Tear solid portion of head into pieces.
Put about half of lettuce pieces into a large saucepan; set remaining pieces aside.
Trim green tops of scallions to a length of 2 to 3 inches.
Chop and add to saucepan with reserved peas, pea pods, 3 tablespoons butter, sugar, salt, monosodium glutamate, and pepper.
Cover with remaining lettuce pieces.
Cover and cook until peas are tender, 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Discard pea pods.
Add the remaining ingredients to saucepan.
Toss lightly to mix thoroughly.
