French-Fried Shrimp Recipe
Even a bar of chocolate cannot lift my spirits as well as this French-fried Shrimp. This French-fried Shrimp when served as an Appetizer will bring happiness in your dining room. Stock up on more and more Shrimp as you will want to make this French-fried Shrimp time and again. Trust me when I say, you have to try French-fried Shrimp.
Ingredients
2 lb. shrimp
1 tsp. salt
Juice of 1 lemon
2 tbsp. oil
1 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/3 tsp. cream of tartar
Pepper to taste
2 eggs, separated
Directions
Shell and devein shrimp.
Combine 2 cups water, salt, lemon juice and 1 tablespoon oil in bowl; soak shrimp in mixture for 30 minutes.
Drain shrimp.
Mix flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, additional salt to taste and pepper.
Add 1 cup ice water; mix well.
Fold in beaten egg yolks and remaining oil.
Fold in stiffly beaten egci whites, Dip shrimp into batter.
Fry in deep fat, several at a time.
