French-Fried Butterfly Shrimp Recipe

French fried butterfly shrimp is prepared with large shrimps. Coatd with a batter of flour and egg seasoned with salt and curry powder, the french fried butterfly shrimp are best served as appetizers.

Ingredients

 
2 pounds large raw shrimp
 
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
 
1/2 teaspoon sugar
 
Dash of curry powder
 
1 egg
 
1 cup water
 
2 teaspoons salad oil
 
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

Peel shrimp; leave tail on.
Slit shrimp along back; remove sand vein.
Flatten; make cut in back.
Pull tail through; pat dry.
Combine dry ingredients; add egg, water, and oil; beat well.
Dip shrimp in batter; fry in hot fat until golden brown.
Remove to paper towels.
