Ingredients

 Garlic1/2 Clove (5gm), crushed
 Dry mustard1/2 Teaspoon
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon
 Ground black pepper1/2 Teaspoon
 1 teaspoon very finely chopped onion or a few finely chopped chives
 Superfine sugar1 Teaspoon
 1/4 pint olive, vegetable or corn oil
 4-6 tablespoons white wine vinegar or cider vinegar

Directions

Blend the first six ingredients together in a bowl.
Mix in the oil slowly with a whisk or spoon.
Finally stir in the vinegar or vinegar and lemon juice.
Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
