French Currant Cream Pie Recipe

Ingredients
Currants-1 cup
Sugar-1 cup
All-purpose flour-1 tablespoon
Sour cream-1 cup
Eggs-2, separated
Cinnamon-1/2 teaspoon
Baking soda-1 teaspoon
Salt-1/4 teaspoon
9-in. pie shell-1, baked
Cream of tartar-1/4 teaspoon
Directions
MAKING
1)In a 2-quart saucepan, mix currants, 3/4 cup sugar and flour.
2)Add sour cream and beaten egg yolks.
3)Then, add cinnamon, soda and salt.
4)Cook the mixture on medium heat until thick. Stir frequently.
5)Take pie shell and pour filling into it.
6)In a bowl, beat egg whites until frothy.
7)Fold in cream of tartar and remaining sugar, beat until stiff peaks form.
8)Spread meringue over pie and bake at 425 degrees for 5 minutes.
SERVING
9)Serve the French currant cream pie warm.
