French Canadian Onion Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| Onions | 3 Large, thinly sliced | |
| 1/2 cup butter or vegetable oil | ||
| Flour | 1 1/2 Tablespoon | |
| 5 1/2 cups seasoned meat stock | ||
| Few drops Tabasco | ||

| Cheddar Cheese | 4 Ounce, grated | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Fry onions in oil until golden brown.
Stir in flour, then stock and seasonings; simmer 10 minutes.
Pour soup into individual ovenproof dishes, put a slice of toast on top, and cover with cheese.
Broil 3 to 4 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
