Savory French Onion Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| White onions | 2 Large, thinly sliced | |
| Granulated Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Sliced mushrooms | 4 Ounce, cleaned | |
| Beef broth | 6 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Worcestershire sauce | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1 tablespoon savory seasonings Garden Blend | ||
| Ground black pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 8 slices French bread sliced 1/2 inch thick dried | ||
| 8 slices baby Swiss cheese | ||
Directions
Melt butter in large saucepan over medium high heat.
Add onions, sugar and mushrooms; saute until onions are transparent.
Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Garden Blend and pepper; stir.
Cover; cook until mixture comes to a boil.
Reduce heat to low.
Cover; simmer 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to broil.
Ladle soup into oven safe bowls.
Add one slice French bread to each bowl; top with slice 'of cheese.
Set bowls on rack under broiler until cheese bubbles and browns.
